Free Events: Nov. 4-10

 

Happy November, all! Here are some events to kick off the month with some entertainment:

Start off the work week with a celebration. On Monday, Nov. 4, R T Quinlan's is hosting a Service Industry night, starting at 8:00 p.m. One dollar off all drinks for everyone out there in the Service Industry.

Tuesday, Nov. 5, is Election Day! Voting for the Duluth School Board and the Duluth City Council will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at a polling place near you. If you are looking for some nighttime entertainment, the band Diet Folk will be performing that evening at 10:00 p.m. at Fitger's Brewhouse. This one is for the ladies, Wednesday, Nov. 6, is Ladies' Night all day at the The Other Place bar, which means cheap drinks and wings for the gals. Also, feel free to sing your heart out at Beaner's Central Coffeehouse during their open mic night from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

As always, the weekend holds some fun and free entertainment as well. On Friday, Nov. 8, head on over to UW Superior for the Nearly Naked Mile. Preregistration is at 4:00 p.m. and the run begins is at 5:00 p.m. around the UWS campus and all clothing is donated to Good Will. Afterwards, chill out to some live tunes at the Ragtime After Glow show at Sir Ben's, starting at 9:00 p.m. 

November also happens to be Native American Heritage Month. Celebrate on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Duluth Public Library and learn about Ojibwa harvest foods with an award-winning Ojibwa freelance writer at 3:00 p.m. Click here for other events at the library related to Native American Heritage Month. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Nice Girls of the North is having their Second Saturday Market at the Lakeside- Lester Community Center. Shop around their handcrafted products while enjoying free coffee, cookies, and door prizes. Saturday is also deer hunting opener. Good luck this season, hunters!

On Sunday, Nov. 10, test your knowledge for some prizes at Carmody's Pub Quiz at 9:00 p.m. Or show off you cribbage skills at Burrito Union's Cribbage Tournament at 8:30 p.m. Think you can dance? You have all day to prove it at the Third Annual Willie Kruger Dance Competition at Grandma's Sports Garden from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
