National Hazing Prevention Week Party. 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Kirby Rafters

Nerd Nite. The Underground hosts this night of “presentations, games, door prizes, booze, and  witty banter!”

Thursday 9/26

Chester Chats. Glenshein Mansion hosts this free Ted Talk-inspired forum on public service at 7 p.m.

Fall of the Faculty lecture series. Benjamin Ginsberg from Johns Hopkins University speaks on the topics of program prioritization and administrative budgetting. The talk starts at 7:00 p.m in UMD's Marshall Performing Arts Center.

Friday 9/27

One Week Live. Check out Beaner’s Central at 8 p.m. for a line-up of local musicians including: Care Bears, Care Bears, Yeah; Old Knifey, and Sonja and the Reckoning.

"This is the End." Bring yourself, a snack, and a friend for a free showing of this armageddon comedy. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. in Bohannon Hall 90 at UMD.

Saturday 9/28

Bike Cave Open Shop. This volunteer and donation-run bike shop is part of the Loaves & Fishes Community. Come build or repair a bike for free, learn more about bike mechanics, or just volunteer. Hours are from 1 to 5 p.m.  Find the cave at 1712 Jefferson St.

Sunday 9/29

Kirby Program Board Cirque du Soleil trip. Get your tickets for Cirque du Soleil’s “Amaluna” Sept. 23 through Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kirby Program Board table in Kirby Plaza. The bus loads at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, and the whole trip only costs $25.

Monday 9/30

"Winter in the Blood" sneak preview. Weber Music Hall houses this screening of the award-winning film at 4 p.m. UMD College of Liberal Arts’ Department of American Indian Studies, UMD School of Fine Arts and the Tweed Museum of Art present the event with a reception afterward at the Tweed.
