College Republicans president issues apology to UMD students

On Friday, August 18 the College Republicans President, Kynze Lundeen, issued an apology to UMD students after controversial posts on the club’s Facebook page sparked concern on campus.

“Please know from the bottom of my heart that I would never condone this kind of behavior and I condemn white supremacists, violence, hate, hate groups and racism,” Lundeen said in her statement. “Violence and hate will NEVER be the answer as long as I am the leader of the College Republicans at UMD.”

The posts that received attention were posted last Monday by the club’s Vice President, who remains unnamed. The posts have since been deleted and the Vice President has resigned.
