Right next to the great Lake Superior in Canal Park, you’ll find Canal Park Brewing Company.

Upon walking in, I was blown away by the amazing views out of the large windows. The atmosphere was great. There were people having actual conversations and not just looking at their phones.

Most everyone had a beer in his or her hand. I wished I actually liked or knew anything about beer.

Looking out of the windows and watching the sunset over Lake Superior on a sunny day was the perfect way to enjoy dinner.

The service was great. Our waiter was very tentative and our food came out rather quickly.

The experience seemed too good to be true, therefore I had very high expectations of the food. However, I was unimpressed.

When glancing over the menu I saw that most of the options had a lot to them. Nothing seemed very plain.

I am a big fan of turkey burgers, but I had never seen one with so many ingredients on it. I decided to try it. Needless to say, there were just too many ingredients on it. It was hard to decipher a specific taste since there were so many different flavors present on the burger. One bite I’d taste onion, the next I’d taste the berry spread and in another bite I tasted the avocado. It was a tad too much for my liking, but I did manage to eat the whole thing.

The happy hour prices were pretty fair. A couple dollars off selected apps, $1.50 off pints  and $1 off rail drinks and wine. It’s nothing to go crazy over, but it’s still fairly reasonable.

The prices were on the higher end, especially for my college student budget. With the high amount of ingredients on my burger, I can see why it was so expensive. Even a bit pricey, it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.

If you are looking for a place to have dinner with a fabulous view, check out Canal Park Brewing Company. I would recommend going before 5:30 to get the early happy hour and to catch the sunset.
