Empty Bowl event provides community art and funding for Second Harvest

On April 16, the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank held its 20th annual Empty Bowl event at the Depot in downtown Duluth. LakeVoice reporter Casey Bissener talks to Shaye Moris, executive director of Second Harvest, and Tonya Borgeson, owner of Snoodle Ceramic Studio and teacher at Lake Superior College. The Empty Bowl event put on every year is to raise money for Second Harvest through a silent auction, and by selling bowls donated by local schools and organizations as well as soup and bread donated by local businesses. Music included in the audio story is from Jim Hall, one of a few musicians who provided entertainment throughout the day.
